*Golden enhydro double terminated quartz are the strongest of the quartz gems and they come directly out of the ground in the shape you see, they are not faceted by gem cutters. Double terminated quartz, first discovered in Herkimer, NY, reflect light similar to diamonds which is how these gems got the nickname herkimer diamond. The rarest of these rare beauties featuring petroleum inclusions are called golden enhydros and are predominately found in Pakistan. (Only double terminated quartz mined in Herkimer, NY can be called herkimer diamond) When exposed to UV/black lights, the petroleum inclusions fluoresce a vibrant green/blue allowing these one-of-a-kind gems to “glow from within.”
